Each of these is real output: a parent handed over a single photo and a line or two about their week, and a whole personalized storybook came back. Read them in full.

Benji Comes Home

Olivia, 5 — with little brother Ethan and Benji the Toy Poodle

The idea: “Olivia is the hero of this one — she and her little brother Ethan have just brought home a Toy Poodle puppy called Benji.”

The full story

Olivia had a big secret. Today was the day.

Ethan bounced on his toes. “Is it time yet?” he asked.

A car pulled up. The whole family ran outside.

Out of the box came a tiny, fluffy puppy.

“Benji,” Olivia whispered. Benji's tail went wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

But where was Benji? He had gone very quiet.

Her tummy went tight. What if Benji was lost?

Olivia turned the knob. She pushed the door open.

Benji had found his own cosy spot. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

Ethan gave Benji a gentle pat. Benji licked his nose.

They played all afternoon. The small red ball rolled and rolled.

Benji was home. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

Cover of “Lucy's Amazing Journey to Mars”, a personalized storybook by KindFable

Lucy's Amazing Journey to Mars

Lucy, 7

The idea: “Lucy wants to fly to Mars in her toy rocket, to see the sun just a little closer.”

The full story

Lucy loved watching sunbeams stretch across her bedroom floor.

The sunbeam was gone, and in its place lay a tiny folded note.

The note read, 'Your sunbeam is on Mars. Come and find it, Lucy.'

Under her bed sat a small red rocket with a round porthole and silver fins.

The small red rocket hummed, and Mars grew closer, red and round and waiting.

Mars was the colour of warm toast, and it stretched on and on in every direction.

Then she saw it, a sunbeam, curled up behind a big round rust-red rock, fast asleep.

Lucy reached out. The sunbeam blinked, wobbled, and then began to drift away.

So Lucy sat very still and hummed, the way you do when you want something to trust you.

The sunbeam curled around her fingers, warm as fresh toast. It was ready to come home.

Back through the stars they flew, the sunbeam curled safe in Lucy's pocket.

The sunbeam stretched across the floor again. Lucy sat in it, and everything was gold.

Cover of “Alexis and the Lion's Roar”, a personalized storybook by KindFable

Alexis and the Lion's Roar

Alexis, 5

The idea: “Alexis went to the zoo to meet the real lions — and hasn't stopped roaring since.”

The full story

Alexis loved animals more than almost anything. Today was the most exciting day of the whole week. “We're going to the zoo!” Alexis cheered.

At the zoo gate, sounds came from everywhere. Parrots squawked. Monkeys chattered. Something deep and rumbly rolled through the air like distant thunder.

“What WAS that?” Alexis whispered. The sound came again — low, warm, and wonderful. Alexis had to find it.

First, Alexis passed the tall giraffes. Their necks curved up and up and UP into the treetops. But that rumbly sound was calling.

Next came the penguins, waddling and splashing. One looked right at Alexis and tilted its head. But the rumble came again, closer now.

Around the next corner, Alexis stopped. There was a sign: LIONS — PRIDE OF THE PLAINS. Alexis's tummy did a tiny flip.

And there — right there — was the LION. He was enormous. His golden mane rippled like a sunset. He opened his great mouth and ROARED.

The roar rolled through Alexis like wind. It was the biggest sound in the world. It felt like courage.

Alexis took a deep breath. And then — quietly, bravely — Alexis roared back. It wasn't very loud. But it was real.

The lion blinked slowly. Then he sat down, curled his great tail around his paws, and looked at Alexis — like they were friends. Alexis grinned the biggest grin.

As the sun dipped low, it was time to go. Alexis looked back one more time and whispered, “Goodbye, lion.” Somehow, it felt like the lion heard.

That night, Alexis lay very still in bed and listened. In the quiet, there it was — the rumble, warm and golden, living now inside Alexis's own chest.

Cover of “Emma and the Moon Tooth”, a personalized storybook by KindFable

Emma and the Moon Tooth

Emma, 5

The idea: “Emma lost her very first wobbly tooth this week — and she's mad about dinosaurs and the moon.”

The full story

Emma had a wobbly tooth. It wiggled and wiggled all day long.

She wiggled it at breakfast. She wiggled it at lunch. Still it held on.

That night the moon shone big and round. It seemed to be watching her.

A tiny silver note fluttered onto the windowsill. It said, “Come and find me, Emma.”

Outside, a path of moonlight led all the way across the garden.

Beyond the wall was a valley full of dinosaurs. Real ones, glowing silver in the night.

A small triceratops trotted over. It nuzzled her hand, ever so gently.

The triceratops nudged something in the grass. Something small and shiny!

It was her tooth. It had landed right here in the moon valley.

She placed it under a moonbeam. It sparkled like the very first star.

The moon smiled. The path of moonlight led her home.

Emma tucked into bed. She wiggled and wiggled all day long, in her dreams.

Every one of these started with a single photo. Make your child the hero next.
