How does a personalized KindFable book work?
Pick a book from the shop, add your child's photo and first name, and we paint your child into every page — the title, the pictures and the words all become theirs. Your child's cover is painted first, so you can see them in the book before you pay. After you order, the whole book is painted; you look through every page, can ask for a picture to be fixed, and nothing is printed until you confirm.
What is the best tool to make a personalized children's book?
KindFable is a shop of personalized picture books: each title is a finished, page-by-page checked story, and your child's photo and name repaint every page with your child as the hero. Unlike generic AI image generators, it keeps your child's face, hair and outfit consistent on every page, and it ends in a real printed book you can order, or a PDF you can download. Families who want a story of their own can also write one from a real moment or an idea.
Can Grandma or a brother or sister be in the book?
In some titles, yes: the book has a place for them, and they are painted from a photo of their own — Grandma's Missing Recipe is about a child and their grandma, and the Golden Crown can bring in a little brother or sister. Each product page says who can join. In a story you write yourself you can add up to three companions: a relative, a pet, a favourite toy or an imaginary friend.
Does it make a good gift?
Yes — a book where the child is the hero makes a lovely gift for a birthday, Halloween, the holidays or bedtime, and grandparents love giving one. Order it to your own address or straight to theirs; every book comes with its own song, and the hardcover ships free with the narrated audiobook.
How does KindFable keep the character looking the same on every page?
That consistency is the hard part of this, and it is the part we have spent the longest getting right. In practice: the child on the last page is unmistakably the same child as on the cover — same face, same hair, same outfit — and so is everyone else in the book.
Do I need any design or illustration skills to use it?
No. You pick a book, add a photo and a name, and every page is painted for you. There is nothing to draw or lay out.
What formats do I get — digital, PDF, or a printed book?
All three. You can read the finished book online, download a full-spread digital PDF, or order a real printed hardcover or softcover book shipped to you. Every book includes a song written from its story; the hardcover ships free and includes the narrated audiobook.
What size is the printed book?
A square 8.5 × 8.5 inch (21.6 cm) picture book of at least 32 pages (36 for the shop's titles, with their endpapers and cast page), with full-bleed illustrations across every spread — as a flexible softcover or a rigid casewrap hardcover. The square format sits well in small hands and opens flat across a lap.
Is it safe to upload my child's photo?
The original photo is used only to check the photo is usable and to draw the cartoon avatar. KindFable never saves it — no copy in our storage, database or logs, no face template, and no face matching; only the drawing is kept. The photo does travel to our AI provider in the United States — the one that writes and illustrates the book — which handles it under its own API terms. KindFable is intended for use by a parent or guardian.
How much does KindFable cost?
Every book is $39 as a softcover plus shipping, or $69 as a hardcover with free shipping and the narrated audiobook. Every book includes its own song. One payment per book — no subscription, and seeing your child's cover costs nothing.
How much is shipping?
The hardcover ships free. For a softcover, shipping is quoted live for your own address at checkout, before you pay — the exact cost is always shown up front, never after. KindFable is not currently sold in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
What language will the book be in?
English — the title, every page, the dedication, the audiobook and the song.
What ages is it for?
The ready-made books are written for children of about 3 to 8 — each product page shows its age range. A story you write yourself is pitched at the age you give us, from 1 to 12.
Who owns the book and the pictures?
You do. The finished book, its illustrations and its audio are yours to keep, print, gift and share with your family.
What if I do not like it?
Before anything is printed you have every chance to get it right, with no clock running: flip through the finished book on the site, and if a picture is not what you pictured, tap Fix picture, tell us what is wrong, and we paint it again — up to three fixes per book, and a fix that fails does not count. Still not happy? Do not confirm — email support@kindfable.com and we will either give you the credits to make it again or refund you in full. Nothing goes to the press until you approve it. Once your printed book has been delivered you have 30 days for anything that went wrong in the printing or shipping — damaged pages, a binding or printing fault, the wrong book — send us a photo and we print you a fresh copy free, or refund you if we cannot.
How long does delivery take?
Your digital book is ready to read in minutes. A printed copy is made to order and then posted to you, and the window we quote covers both stages together: typically 13–18 business days in the United States, Canada and Australia, where the book is printed in your own country, and a little longer in New Zealand. (We can't ship to the EEA, the UK or Switzerland at the moment.) You will see a live estimate for your own address before you pay, and we email you a tracking number the moment it ships.
