How does KindFable keep the character looking the same on every page?
That consistency is the hard part of this, and it is the part we have spent the longest getting right. In practice: the child on the last page is unmistakably the same child as on the cover — same face, same hair, same outfit — and so is everyone else in the book.
Do I need any design or illustration skills to use it?
No. You add a photo, write a line about what the story should be about, and KindFable writes the story and paints every page automatically. There is nothing to draw or lay out.
What formats do I get — digital, PDF, or a printed book?
All three. You can read the finished book online, download a full-spread digital PDF, or order a real printed hardcover or softcover book shipped to you. Every book includes a song written from its story, free; the hardcover ships free and includes the narrated audiobook.
What size is the printed book?
A square 8.5 × 8.5 inch (21.6 cm) picture book, 32 pages, with full-bleed illustrations across every spread — as a flexible softcover or a rigid casewrap hardcover. The square format sits well in small hands and opens flat across a lap.
Is it safe to upload my child's photo?
The original photo is used only to check the photo is usable and to draw the cartoon avatar. KindFable never saves it — no copy in our storage, database or logs, no face template, and no face matching; only the drawing is kept. The photo does travel to our AI provider in the United States — the one that writes and illustrates the book — which handles it under its own API terms. KindFable is intended for use by a parent or guardian.
How many characters can be in the book?
Up to four: your child plus up to three companions — a relative, a pet, a favourite toy, or an imaginary friend. You can upload a photo for each of them, and every character stays visually consistent throughout the book.
How much does KindFable cost?
You pay per finished book, with no subscription required to create one, and the first preview is free before you sign up. Every book includes its story's song free. The hardcover ships free and includes the narrated audiobook; softcover shipping is calculated for your address at checkout. See the pricing page for current rates.
What language will the book be in?
English, Spanish, French or German — you choose when you make the book, and the whole thing is written in it: the title, every page, the dedication. The story is also pitched at the age you give us, so a three-year-old gets simpler sentences than a seven-year-old.
Who owns the book and the pictures?
You do. The finished book, its illustrations and its audio are yours to keep, print, gift and share with your family.
What if I do not like it?
Before anything is printed you have every chance to get it right, with no clock running: download the PDF, flip through the finished book on the site, and if a page is not what you pictured, open the Studio and regenerate that spread yourself. Still not happy? Do not confirm — email support@kindfable.com and we will either give you the credits to make it again or refund you in full. Nothing goes to the press until you approve it. Once your printed book has been delivered you have 30 days for anything that went wrong in the printing or shipping — damaged pages, a binding or printing fault, the wrong book — send us a photo and we print you a fresh copy free, or refund you if we cannot.
How long does delivery take?
Your digital book is ready to read in minutes. A printed copy is made to order, which takes about a week at the press on its own, then shipping on top — usually around two weeks in total in the US and Canada, where books are printed in-country, and a little longer in Australia and New Zealand. (We can't ship to the EEA, the UK or Switzerland at the moment.) You will see a live estimate for your own address before you pay, and we email you a tracking number the moment it ships.
